Test center

From the very beginning our idea was to create a bike that except having an excellent design, to be a safe, convenient and reliable means of transportation and recreation. The original purpose of creating our test center, was to fulfill the safety standards. Gradually, we began applying the new, up-to-date testing procedures, to be assured that we can provide the highest quality to our customers. Subsequently, we continued developing our products and their design, and started performing improved in-house tests. In the process we became more flexible and precise in making these tests. We dedicated all our time to this and invested our experience in creating quality and safe bicycles. That is why, while riding our bicycles, we can guarantee maximum security, pleasant experience and reliability.

Our tests follow a well-developed algorithm, which we apply each following year. Every season we review our methods and modify the process, if necessary.
For our e-bicycle product line, we created our own testing procedure, including measurements of each single bike component. We observe and analyze the e-bike system as a whole and how the parts interact between each other.
The test center is a separate and independent part of the manufacturing process. In the test center it is possible to conduct standardized procedures in accordance with the European and Bulgarian standards, as well as non-standardized, experimental procedures. For each bicycle category we produce, there are separate European, Bulgarian and company standards.

We begin with the test for measuring and analyzing the performance of the braking system. We are fully aware that the brakes are one of the most important parts of the bicycle. To be sure that the brakes will function properly under any conditions, they go through a detailed testing procedure. We test and measure braking power and distance, durability of the disks and pads (if there is a V -brake system) on dry and wet cycling conditions. We also test their durability in "downhill" mode, as well as their heat resistance. In addition, this test also allows us to try the brake levers and cable casing. These parameters are a key to the assessment of the braking system stability as a whole, in accordance with the directives 2004/208/EU and 2006/95/EU for product safety.

After finishing with the braking system, we move our attention to the road test. The idea is to test the bicycle as a whole rather than component by component. This is the only way to gain a deep perspective of its performance. The complete road test includes series of procedures for proofing all components on a drum machine. It is created in accordance with the current European norms and standards, and the German DIN+ standard. The bicycle is put onto the rolling drums and it is loaded with heavy weights. The maximum weight of the bicycle can be up to 400 kg and for our purposes we use weights up to 140 kg (equal to the weight of a cyclist with luggage). The bicycle has to pass a certain distance on the drum, on specific roughness and/or obstacles of different nature (for example dirt road, paved streets and others). The simulation provides thorough information about the interaction and quality of the bicycle as a whole. In order to archive the whole information, we document and record every single detail.

Another aspect we pay attention to is the paint of the bicycle. Striving for creating bicycles with a perfect outlook, we renewed and reorganized our whole paining department in order to utilize the wet paining technology.
Thanks to precision in the details, we also apply paint tests. The secret of the paint endurance is the thickness of the layers. To find out the paint and metals with highest corrosion resistance, we conduct a fog and salt solution test. In the preparatory stage we select several samples of one batch, clean them carefully, examine and photograph them. Foggy-salt environment is created in a special machine. We put the painted components. The whole test takes up to 720 hours. After the procedure finishes, the samples are taken out, left to dry and examined. We analyze the results.
The next stage of the endurance test is the "cut paint test" analysis or cross cut test. Painted frames are cut in a specific way, simulating the "peeling" of the paint. In this way a thorough perspective can be gained for: depth, density and endurance of the coating. These results are examined carefully and documented.

The test center is used not only for measuring and analyzing the bicycle performance under specific conditions, but also with the purpose of new products development. Despite the standardized procedures with specific conditions, we conduct experimental prototype testing as well. The bicycles go through the same procedures and tests. To achieve maximum results, we test the bikes to their limit, no matter if this could leads to breaking the test bicycle.
We do not limit ourselves only to laboratory tests. New models, for example, are tested by professional cyclists on chosen tracks and roads. The different body structure such as weight and height are taken into consideration. In this case, the collected information is used not only for testing the products, but also for their future development. The process of development is the foundation of our marketing strategy and is aimed at gathering information about the preferences, needs and expectations of customers to our bikes. Precise handling and storage of this information is essential.
All these developments and tests are reflection of our knowledge, experience and passion for creating a safe and elegant bicycle of a highest class. Through our longstanding presence in the industry, we managed to create effective testing procedures to ensure ourselves that we provide the very best to our clients.
The Impact test is another important test on which our attention is focused. We test the paint's crack resistance. With a special device we "drop" ½ kilo weight, so that the weight hits the surface. The positive results from this test guarantee a sufficient strength and elasticity of the paint.
